A few words about us

I have been working on automobiles for over 45 years with more knowledge and experience than you will find in any other repair and restore facility. I started out as a young boy with the love of the sound and the speed. I had the opportunity to be around it when I was young. My dad was an auto mechanic! My father also was an auto body and heavy collision expert. I worked with him at night in the garage and went to work with him on the week ends. Although I loved it, he wanted different for me, he said “Work Smart, Not Hard.” but I didn’t listen. I love what I do and I think that is what makes most of the difference from any other repair shop! I have had training from most major car manufacturers and outside facility training, plus many years of hands-on. My roots stem from New York were I worked for several car dealerships and some private repair shops. I owned an auto body and restoration shop before moving to Florida in1989. Since then I have worked at several large dealerships before going back out on my own in 2003. 10 years later I am fortunate to be successful, I say successful because of the hundreds of satisfied customers! I have had the pleasure of repairing there vehicles, I appreciate you more than you will ever no.Thank you for making Matt’s auto who and what we are.

7 step Checklist for evaluating a repair shop!

Appearance- Reflects attention to detail and an effort to maintain a professional image.

Amenities-Comfortable waiting room; pick up and drop off service for customer.

Equipment- Up-to-date equipment and information.

Reputation- Check with the State Attorney General and local agencies for reports of unresolved disputes. Check on the length of time the shop had been in operation.

Recommendations- Ask family and friends about their experience. Were they charged the price they were quoted? Was their car ready when promised? Were they treated courteously?

Specialization- Identify shops that specialize in the vehicle you drive or the type of repair or maintenance service you need. If you are not certain what repair your vehicle needs, a facility that covers all general repair needs could provide the diagnosis and refer you to a specialist.

Warranty- Look for a 12-month or 12,000-mile warranty.
